Thought location was lovely nice view of fields from room . Room was very comfortable but shower not great but overall enjoed the stay
The set up of the hotel around a nice courtyard was lovely, location great and the food was superb. They aslo were happy to accomodate my speicla dietary requirements. Will use again!
Excellent service by well trained staff in all sections of the hotel.
The food was very good and reasonably priced. The location near Rutland Water is excellent.
The courtyard room decor was a little tired, particularly in the staircase area. There was no minibar/fridge in the room although there was space to provide one.
Situation of the room, ie. over the bar. I wondered if it really was a superior room.
The food was of a high standard, the evening meal and breakfast were very enjoyable, and plenty of choice..the staff were very attentive..
The bedroom was comfortable but quite small.the self closing doors from the room below could do with a cushioning device to lower the noise level..
Good food and friendly staff
We booked a superior room, but were given a standard room, which we realised too late. Some of the restaurant staff seemed to lack the experience one would expect for the prices charged.
convenient confortable efficient. In sunny warm weather I suspect very enjoyable with the open garden type court yard
relaxing in room ,general outside area
food in restuarant was over priced with small portionscould not see any info about spa - except - ask at reception , when i went to reception they were busy - could there be info provided so that guests could have some idea what is on offer and prices
Friendly and relaxed ambience - very efficient staff. Pretty country location - lovely grounds including sheltered courtyard garden. Our spacious room had views across fields and a glimpse of Rutland Water. We ate in the conservatory and enjoyed our meal.
The location was perfect, the staff welcoming, the ambience warm and relaxed.
The Barnsdale Lodge is surrounded by lovely countryside with beautiful views, and Rutland Water makes for a fantastic walk. The staff are very welcoming, service great, rooms lovely and clean.(we were able to set up the multi media player to the tv which is handy when wanting some entertainment )In the morning my wife and I enjoyed their full English breakfast and although we only stayed one night (all for just 59) we would highly recommend staying at Barnsdale Lodge to anyone. After breakfast we headed off to Barnsdale Gardens which is just amazing !
The room was lovely. We booked a Superior room and it was well worth the extra money. The staff were all helpful, very friendly and all had a great attitude. The food and wine was also a highlight. Very nice!
The only thing bad thing is the very busy main road at the front but at the end of the day there's not much you can do about that and we knew about it when we booked.
I really cannot fault this hotel, the staff were extremely helpful. I would certainly recommend to others.
We stayed for 3 nights at Barnsdale Lodge and had a nice relaxing break. The staff were friendly and helpful. The little extras in the room were a nice touch, like bottled water, fresh milk (on request) and ground coffee with a cafetiere as well as all the usual. The hotel is in a beautiful setting overlooking fields around a very pretty courtyard. We only ate dinner once at the hotel but the food was excellent.
We booked a Superior room through Booked.net which was cheaper than booking through the hotel and wondered whether this made a difference to the room we were allocated which, although it was clean & comfortable, was a little tired and the furniture was a bit old and tatty.
